Cost of living issues have always been around but in recent years, for vulnerable communities the number of people suffering has spiked dramatically – 7 million people are said to be going hungry in the UK, including 2 million children. This figure is a dramatic increase of 2 million since the pandemic. As a nationwide company, Pure Offices have chosen to give back to this cause and contribute to Fareshare’s Running On Empty Campaign which is designed specifically to support those affected by the cost of living crisis.
Fareshare are an honourable charity that fight hunger and tackle food waste by redistributing surplus food to charities, who then turn it into meals.
Research suggests that almost half of families living in the UK are unable to meet the cost of basic necessities.
Fareshare’s mission matters now more than ever and they’re currently running a campaign called #RunningOnEmpty – which aims to help the most vulnerable communities in the UK during the Cost of Living Crisis.
Glasgow, Cheadle, Leeds Thorpe Park, Oxford, Nottingham and Edinburgh Pure Offices’ sites have individually donated £500 resulting in a fantastic total of £3,000 towards Fareshare’s Running On Empty campaign.
