Portishead property group ticks all the boxes

Pure Offices Kestrel Court in Portishead is fortunate to have an all-encompassing properties and maintenance group as one of its tenants. Port Marine Property Services Ltd is just one cog in Managing Director Paul Marks’ Portishead property machine.
Three years ago Paul established two companies - Port Marine Home Services Ltd and Port Marine Property Services Ltd. The latter specialises in cleaning and maintenance for commercial properties, delivering high quality services and building maintenance to businesses and properties in the North Somerset area. In fact, Port Marine Property Services handles all of Pure Offices Kestrel Court's cleaning and maintenance. Having a company like Port Marine in the business centre is a real boon for the serviced office provider.
Port Marine Home Services ticks all the same boxes, but this arm of the group deals with residential property. Paul describes the business as ‘a one-stop-shop for residential maintenance and cleaning’, with a growing clientele.
Early this year Paul realised that Port Marine Home Services’ remit had grown - the company was undertaking a lot of work that a residential agent would normally do. Port Marine had started managing a number of properties while their owners were abroad, and were in fact working for a few residential agents. The obvious thing to do was to cut out the middle man and add ‘estate agent’ to the list of services the Port Marine group was providing. Paul started Port Marine Properties in May with his business partner Will James, a professional rugby player for Gloucester who also has experience in the lettings and property management industry.
Port Marine Property Services and Port Marine Home Services were among the first tenants in Kestrel Court's serviced offices when they were built. Paul says the Portishead business centre was just what he was looking for: ‘When you're running a new start-up the last thing you want is a long lease - it’s like an anchor round your neck. Kestrel Court’s flexible office space meant I didn't have to be constantly worrying about finances, and I could concentrate on running the business.’
The Port Marine based company has attracted some impressive contracts, among them Coleman UK, the international camping and outdoor giant, and the Hydrex Group, a large heavy plant and equipment rental firm. The business also works for many national property management companies and house builders.
