Irish infrastructure company opens office at Equipoint

Equipoint in Birmingham continues to broaden its European tenant base, this time by providing serviced offices for an Irish motorway infrastructure company.
Holgate Infrastructure and Motorway Services was founded in Ireland in 1993 and quickly established itself as the leading provider of crash and environmental noise barriers for the Irish market. Now the company is expanding into the UK, led by Business Development Director John Cahill.
Holgate decided that Birmingham was the ideal central location for the UK office and moved into serviced offices at Equipoint in August this year. John Cahill had been a tenant at the business centre before with a different company, and was keen to return. “We were offered excellent terms for the office space we needed, and we’ve now got a comfortable monthly rolling lease,” says the Business Development Director.
Holgate provides Steel Safety Barrier Systems (which are rapidly replacing their concrete counterparts), Wire Rope Systems, and a wide range of high performance Noise Barrier Solutions. John explains that very few companies both supply and install these products - most only do one or the other. “We cover every stage of the process, from design through to installation, which means we’re able to meet requirements better and faster and maintain the highest standards in the industry,” he says.
The successful barrier supplier has hit the ground running in the UK, securing a substantial contract to install a large environmental barrier on the M74 near Glasgow. “It’s a great start for us - we’ve managed to get our foot in the door in the UK really quickly,” John explains.
Now Holgate is looking even further afield, where John has his eyes on several overseas contracts - “Wherever there are roads and bridges being built, we’ll be there!”
