Dynamic duo prove it pays to be green

Dynamic Energies Ltd, a company dedicated to reducing carbon footprints and saving energy, has recently taken up residence at Equipoint business centre in Birmingham.
The company, which offers free carbon surveys and a range of energy-saving solutions, moved into serviced offices at Equipoint in July this year and became a limited company in August. Joint Managing Directors Julian and Ken say they chose the Birmingham business centre for its location, contemporary meeting rooms and twenty-four hour access. “The office space is great, and best of all it’s only five minutes from my flat!” Julian says.
Dynamic Energies provide free comprehensive site surveys for homes and businesses, then advise customers on how to apply energy-saving initiatives, from light bulbs to thermal heating to solar panels.
The company’s primary focus is on supplying and installing solar panels, which can save a small fortune and even earn money for residential and commercial customers that use them.
Julian explains that the government has introduced an incentive scheme through the Carbon Trust whereby a customer’s energy supplier will pay 41.3p (or 36.1p for commercial buildings) for every kWh of energy generated by the panels. This ‘feed-in tariff’ adds up to an impressive investment return.
“When we started doing this people always asked us ‘where’s the catch?’ and we just referred them to the Carbon Trust,” the Director says. “If the government offered to pay you £1,000 a year for the next 25 years in return for an up-front investment of £12,500, you'd snap it up in a second. Well, that’s pretty much the deal on offer.”
The benefits are huge, and customers who have installed solar panels can even look forward to selling their houses at a premium as a result.
Dynamic Energies, who are MCS certified, operate throughout the Midlands and are looking to expand further north in the near future.
